The current shareholding constitutes of promoters holding 55.42 percent, Citizen Investment Trust holding 9.02 percent and the general public holding 35.56 percent. Promoters represent Nepal’s leading business families with diversified business interests. The Bank’s shares are listed and actively traded in the Nepalese Stock Exchange.
Laxmi Bank has grown with branches in Birgunj, Banepa, two in Pokhara, Biratnagar, Narayanghat, Pulchowk, Lalitpur, Teku, New Road, Janakpur, New Baneshwor, Damak, Bhatbhateni, Itahari and Maharajgunj. Following the merger with Hisef Finance Ltd., a decade old first generation finance company, its office in Hattisar, Kathmandu was converted to that of Laxmi Bank. This office was converted to a full branch and our corporate office in October 2005.

Laxmi Bank started operations from its two new branches in Nepalgunj and Butwal on Tuesday. The new branches will join the bank´s western network. “Both Nepalgunj and Butwal have developed as commercial hubs and Laxmi Bank is positioned to offer full-fledged banking services to all segments of the society -- from businesses to individual households,” according to the bank.

Laxmi Bank and Beed Invest have signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce portfolio management services to the bank's customers. As per the agreement, Laxmi Bank and Beed Invest will work together to develop financial and investment products for Laxmi Bank´s customers, who are keen at investing in the stock market. Beed is a portfolio manager authorized by Securities Board of Nepal.

Laxmi Bank will fine account holders of the bank who are repeatedly found issuing bad checks, i.e. checks issued intentionally without sufficient balance in the accounts. The bank had decided to take the action "to encourage prudent financial behavior among clients and all stakeholders of the bank

Laxmi Bank opened a new branch at Parsa Bazaar of Chitwan on Sunday, its 19th branch in the country and second in Chitwan. The bank has already opened 15 ATMs in addition to around 400 payment agents across the country

12-05-2009:
Laxmi Bank has opened a new branch inside the Patan Hospital complex in Lagankhel. This is the 18th branch of the bank. The new branch will offer a full range of personal and retail banking services, including savings and derivative deposit schemes that yield an interest of up to 7 percent per annum. Other services include home loans, life insurance, credit cards, bill payment, e-banking and loans to small businesses.
